These cinematic Journeys lookup tables (LUTs) Are developed and finessed by Bryn North over time since he Has traveled to various areas of Earth.
Each surroundings feature has resisted the appearance and texture of the distinguished package of tones. Whether it's the reds of Saudi Arabian slopes, greens of this Sumatran Jungles, or the plains of the Namibian bush there's a look to boost the stylized colors of your own production. Each LUT was created using a normalized standard Rec.709 color space in your mind and maybe adjusted to fit most camera types and profiles.
WHO IS BRYN NORTH?
Bryn is a Zimbabwean filmmaker that has worked for a variety of brands, customers, and tourism boards around the globe (Audi, Puma, Red Bull, Adobe, DJI, IFAW, Polar Pro, etc). He's well known for his bare-bones, run and gun approach that has affected his filmmaking style because he utilizes minimal equipment to get the job done to the maximum quality possible.
He's had the chance to operate and edit to get various other gifted filmmakers on YouTube (Dan Mace, Sam Kolder, Ben Brown, etc). Throughout his time producing for others and himself, he's gradually finessed and finely tuned his color preferences while being inspired by the colors and surroundings of landscapes across the world.
Underwater Correction Tip:
1-Raw footage
2-Apply one of the various VT_Submerged underwater LUTs or your own that best fits the look and feel you are hoping to achieve.
3-Adjust the color temperature towards the warm end of the scale. This will bring some color back into your skin tones/coral. It will then adjust your watercolor and introduce more green/yellow into the image.
4-In order to correct the color of the water we then start to add the magenta tint until there is a balance between the watercolor and the correct skin tones/coral.
Keep in mind the bitrate and codec o your footage will be a limiting factor, we have to try to find a happy medium where we can adjust the colors as best as possible but without the image artifacts falling apart.
